Dr. Wonhee Kang
Music Director
Dr. Wonhee Kang, D.Min, approaches life with a heart full of energy. As an Enneagram Type Seven, she joyfully brings enthusiasm to her roles as a Worship Artist and church music leader. For more than 30 years, Dr. Kang has passionately supported multicultural ministries, advocating for the recognition and celebration of diversity. Her dedication extends to nonprofit organizations where she focuses on helping at-risk youth.
Her academic journey reflects her commitment to lifelong learning. Dr. Kang's studies have taken her from Sejong University in Seoul to Shenandoah University and Wesley Seminary in the USA, and finally to Leeds Beckett University in the UK. She has earned degrees in voice, church music, arts and theology, and expressive & play therapies, demonstrating her wide-ranging expertise and skills.
Originally from Seoul, Korea, Dr. Kang resides in Northern Virginia with her husband, Rev. Dr. Sul. They are grateful parents to two grown daughters and two cherished sons-in-law. Their family is blessed with seven grandchildren, whose laughter fills their lives with joy.
Their pastoral retreat, where Dr. Kang and her husband tend to an Asian plum orchard, brings them peace and purpose. Their lively home shared with a playful dog and eight chickens, embodies their balanced life.
Dr. Wonhee Kang's enduring dedication and enthusiasm are deeply rooted in her family's values of integrity, service, and faith. With a solid foundation in the arts and a curious mind, she remains committed to lifelong learning and serving her community.
Karyn Sizemore
Director of Christian Development / Administrative Assistant
Karyn joined our staff in 2022 as our administrative assistant and in 2023 added on the role of Director of Formation for Children, Youth and Families. Karyn and her husband, Steve moved to Culpeper in 2007 and they have two children. They also have dogs, cats, fish, and a turtle. In her spare time, Karyn likes to craft and do puzzles.

Abbey Newton
Bookkeeper
Abbey came to St. Stephen’s in November of 2017. She is originally from Connecticut and moved to VA in 1994. She attended both Northern VA Community College and Radford University where she majored in Business. Abbey is the Church Bookkeeper and as such performs the accounting functions for the Church to include payroll, contributions, accounts payable and receivables, banking and credit card monitoring and reconciling and other day to day duties to ensure accurate accounting practices for the Church. She is a mom to son Sam and enjoys reading and painting.

Don Hatton
Don Hatton joined the staff in February, 2024. In the past, he has owned a construction business, and most recently worked at Martin's Foods. Don and his wife, Deborah, have three grown daughters and seven grandchildren.
